1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how "Halves" (the iOS app and the website halves.app) handles your information. We take your privacy seriously and aim to keep everything as simple and transparent as possible.

2. How data is stored and used

All of your task and group data (lists, assignments, etc.) is stored in your own iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit. We do not have our own servers or databases, and we cannot see, access, or read your data.

3. What data we collect

To keep Halves simple and private, we collect as little information as possible:

• Only what Apple/iCloud provides for CloudKit sync, such as an anonymous iCloud user record ID.
• No names, email addresses, or other personal details are collected by us.

Halves does not collect location data.

4. iCloud and Apple's role

Halves relies on Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services to sync your data between two people. Apple's own privacy and security policies apply to iCloud itself. We encourage you to review Apple's iCloud privacy information.

We do not implement any third-party analytics, ad SDKs, tracking pixels, or cookies on the halves.app website.

5. Why we collect this data

Any iCloud data we receive via CloudKit is used only to:

• Enable task sharing and syncing between two paired users.
• Keep your data consistent across your devices.

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or profiling.

6. Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with anyone, except where required by law or to comply with legal obligations. Since your data lives in your iCloud account, Apple may apply its own legal-process procedures as described in Apple's iCloud terms.

7. Data retention and deletion

Halves does not store your data on our own servers, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf beyond what you manage in iCloud.

• If you stop using Halves, your data remains in your iCloud account until you delete it there or remove the app from iCloud.
• We retain no logs or copies of your tasks or groups.

8. Children's privacy

Halves is not intended for users under 13 years old. By using the app, you confirm that you are at least 13. Apple's iCloud terms also require users to be at least 13, so underage users cannot legally sign in.

9. Your rights (GDPR and similar laws)

Depending on your location (for example, under GDPR in the EU/EEA/UK), you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
• Request data portability.
• Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
